It’s Time to Start Paying Creatives the Respect They Deserve

Entertainers and creatives are responsible for all the art that you love. Everything that you consume was created by the hands of someone else.

The TV shows, books, video games, and music we pay attention to would not exist had it not been for the creators that created it.

Creators are undervalued and taken for granted. It’s high time creators started getting the proper respect, pay, and recognition they deserve.

TV shows would not exist were it not for the producers and writers that come up with the material. The material wouldn’t be able to come alive if it weren’t for the actors.

We consume art and think it’s there for us, and it is. But you can’t then turn around and treat the person that made it like trash.

Creators do not get the attention or the pay they deserve, despite being responsible for all your favorite things.

Whether you like it or not, humans are consumers. We consume everything around us from books, movies, magazines, video games, music, and TV shows.

Think about how much of your free time you spend on these arts. You listen to music or a podcast in the car on your way to work. You wind down at night watching a funny sitcom or reading a book.

These things are all art.

And what would we do without art? How do you live without it? When art is the very thing that makes life worth living. There is no heart without art.

Art is the backbone of fulfilling human experience. Even in our travels. You go to other countries and marvel at the historic architecture and famous paintings and sculptures. These things did not pop up out of anywhere. They were not created out of thin air.

They exist because an artist was brave enough to put aside cultural expectations and decided to do something great.

Every day people are becoming brave enough to open their own businesses and turn their dreams into a living. So many things today rely on creators. In fact, you might call us in the creator economy.

Nowadays, art might look different. There is a larger realm of possibilities. It might look like YouTube videos, blog posts, graphic design, photographers, or podcasts.

These professions aren’t taken as seriously as accountants or lawyers, and yet they are integral parts of our life experience.

Everything you touch, everything you see is a result of art. Because someone decided ‘Hey, I think I want to make this thing.’

And when it comes down to it, we’re all creators. We can be creators of our own destiny, but we’re also artists by nature.

We like to make things. We like to create things. There’s innovation everywhere for us to get inspired by.

Final Thoughts

Every part of our lives is touched by art. Everywhere you go, everywhere you look, you see and consume art. It’s in our buildings, our furniture, our music, our literature, and more.

We get to enjoy these things because someone created them.

Today, appreciate the creators in your life and give them thanks. It’s the least they deserve.
