Of all the professions in the world, artistic ones are by far the most undervalued.When people ask you what you want to do for a living, you tell them, “I want to be a writer.” “I want to be a musician.” “I want to be a graphic designer.”They scoff and tell you it’s unrealistic. That you’ll never make enough money doing it, that you’ll never make it period.Then, these same people turn around and bathe in the art around them. They read your books, they listen to your music, they watch your TV shows.All this time they spent belittling you, just for them to turn around and enjoy all the same art that they abhor as a profession.They are the problem.
