Mistakes are a necessary part of being human. If you’re not making mistakes, then you’re doing life wrong. There is no way to get around making mistakes. They happen.But for some reason, we’ve got it into our heads that we’re not able to make mistakes. That we’re not allowed to make mistakes.Mistakes mean you did something wrong. Sometimes, we internalize it as we are wrong, but that’s a distinction for another day.People look at mistakes like they’re the bane of existence. For some reason, we’ve got it into our heads that we have to be perfect and we can’t step outside of that realm.Mistakes shouldn’t be taboo things. We should be okay with the fact that we’re going to make mistakes and embrace them.Mistakes are what make us human. The reason perfection doesn’t exist is that we are fallible creatures, and that’s a beautiful thing. If we didn’t make mistakes, there wouldn’t be anything interesting about us anymore. It’s what makes life interesting.Show me one person who has not made a mistake. You can’t.Everybody in life makes mistakes. You’re bound to make mistakes. I’m bound to make mistakes.Every time we make a mistake, we grow from it. We learn. Once we make a mistake, we figure out what went wrong and know how to rectify it the next time.Obviously, mistakes are limited. You can’t go around at work or in relationships constantly making mistakes just to make them. You should still try.Make more mistakes. It’s good for you. It means you’re learning and growing.I wouldn’t have it any other way.
