How I Made $500+ By Reselling My Clothes on Poshmark

It all started with Gary Vaynerchuk. I watched his videos and saw how he talked about reselling items as a real, viable source of income. I became obsessed.I started decluttering my possessions, racking up a mountain of clothes and books I no longer wanted. They were nice clothes though, so I didn’t want to just get rid of them. Then, I thought ‘Why don’t I sell them?’I took my clothes, snapped a picture of them, and put them online — specifically on Poshmark. As I learned the platform, I started selling items and before long had emptied my closet and grown my wallet.

Reselling your stuff is a great way to make money. So long as it’s still in relatively good condition, you can make money off of it.Selling your clothes is fun and easy.

Pick out your items

If you look around your home, you’ll find things you’ve grown out of that no longer suit you. You may find that they would be perfect to sell and make you some money.

Look at price comparisons

You want to know how much you can sell your item for. The best way to do this is to look up comparable items and see how much they sold for. You can do this by searching for the item and filtering to sold items.

Gather details

Buyers love details. If you have a white t-shirt, consider everything when listing. What is the brand? What size is it? Long sleeve or short sleeve? Crew neck, v-neck? Ruffles? The more you add, the better.

Post your item

To list your item, you’ll need to take pictures. Find a clean spot where you can hang or lay your clothes where there’s enough lighting and they won’t get dirty. You can then touch up the photos in an app like VSCO. Just don’t misrepresent.

Share, share, share

The key to Poshmark is to share everything. Follow other closets and share their items. Share your items multiple times a day. Poshmark even has specific parties to promote your items, which are a good place to share.
