You’re overwhelmed with everything you have to get done. You have a lot to finish. You have to do grocery shopping, do housework, and write your next blog post. You can’t keep any of it organized and you’re ready to lose your mind.

There’s no way you can keep it all straight, but what if I told you there was a way?

Back in 2017, bullet journals were picking up popularity. They were a trend among the nation catching storm and I fell into the crowd.

At the time, I was balancing school, running a business, and home life. I needed one place where I could put everything so I could see what I had in front of me. The bullet journal offered me the perfect solution.

I could create my own monthly schedule and add all the elements I wanted. I could add a place for groceries and notes to myself. It was everything I needed, all in one place. It was perfect.

There are so many reasons to use a bullet journal, and these are a few of them.

1. You get complete creativity to make your own system.

The creator of the bullet journal method created a simplistic how-to guide to use it. From there, you can adapt it and change it to your needs.

2. The system is minimalistic in creation.

The creator, Ryder Carrol, designed the system so you could rapidly log whatever you needed to. The simplicity is what makes it great.

3. It can keep track of all your notes and to-do lists.

Part of the beauty of the system is that you can create collections, where you put things together. You can use it to write all your miscellaneous notes rather than using hundreds of different sticky notes.

4. You can choose to get your creativity out.

While not necessary, you can choose to get fancy with your designs. You can use draw things and use different colors. It’s like an empty playground.

5. It helps you stay organized and on top of dates.

There are multiple ways to set up your dates between using the suggested future calendar and calendars at a glance. You get to set up your calendar exactly how you like it.

6. It’s a good way to track goals.

Goal setting couldn’t be any easier when you can jot down your goals and break them down. You get to all the minuscule details of your goals and can plan accordingly.6. You can combine different elements to make your perfect spreads.

It lets you create the perfect setup. You can experiment every day or week, and it’s easy to figure out what you need and change it to fit.

7. You can add any amount of personalized spreads.

Part of the reason the bullet journal is so renowned is that you can do literally anything. You can plop down a random journal entry or add your list of books to read or movies to watch.

9. It’s a good way to relieve stress.

You can use it to destress your heart’s desire. Both coloring and journaling are proven methods to reduce stress, and you can sprinkle them anywhere in your journal.

10. It can be a fun time capsule.

Journals are a way of preserving time. As you look back on your journals, you’ll be able to see how you grew and what you did. It’s a nice way to review the past.

Bullet journals offer a simple way to stay organized and have fun doing it. It allows you to take full control of your schedule and keep track of your tasks and goals.

The minimalistic design means you can adapt it to however you want to serve your needs. You can make it into anything you want and mix and match all kinds of different elements.

Don’t get discouraged because other people have pretty journals and you don’t. That’s not the point of the system, and if it doesn’t serve you, then don’t use it.

Who knows? Bullet journaling might be exactly what you need.
