June 6th: What’s your favorite color? Why, and how is it represented in your life?

You open your eyes and can see vibrant colors every day. The reds, greens, yellows, and blues.

There are thousands of different colors the human eye can differentiate.

Looking at colors is fun. To see the nuances in shade. From hot pink to sky blue.

But if I had to choose one, it would be the blue spectrum.

Blue has always been my favorite color. As it happens, blue is also my eye color.

Despite the fact that water is a clear substance, it’s associated with blue.

You look at the blue sky being reflected off the surface of the ocean. Pools are painted blue. Water itself is not blue but always reminds me of it.

And water is a part of my life.

I’ve loved being in the water all my life. Ever since I was little, I would go to the pool and stay inside until I got all pruny.

We would be trying to leave and I would find an excuse to dive into the water one last time.

It reminds me of the rain. Heavy, pounding away at the windows.

It’s the calm in the storm, the hurricane, and the waves.

Blue is a marker of serenity.

Key Message: Blue is for serenity and water. It’s where you find peace.
